Wedding Table Pieces

Wedding Table Pieces

And Using a Color Wheel Choose Colors.

It doesn’t take much to beautify pieces you add to your wedding table. It could be as simple as a adding a few colored napkins that coordinate well with colored table cloths. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money and you’ve decided to have a cake and punch style wedding reception, spend a bit more time on the accessories you add to your reception tables. Your guests will remember the colors you choose even if they don’t get a fancy meal. They ultimately want to see you happy.

One tip is to stay color coordinated through out. As you’re planning your event, invest in a color wheel that shows color combinations. Some colors really don’t go together well. Getting a color wheel is one way to avoid colors that clash. You can probably pick one up at a store.

Remember the old adage that less is more. Rather than over doing the room and making it look cluttered, take a step back when you’ve finished your work to see if the room is over decorated. It is human nature to overdo when decorating.

Another tip, take a digital photo of the room before your guests arrive to see what might be out of place. Treat the reception room as if it were going into a wedding magazine. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a photo of your decorated reception room could tell you exactly what you need to know

Don’t let it happen. Dance!

With the popularity of Dancing with the Stars, any couple struggling to be romantic can see the kind of intimate closeness that comes from dancing sometimes called ballroom salsa dancing . It’s the ultimate romance tool before during and after the wedding.

The show plainly illustrates how various ballroom dance moves really bring couples together again and again. Some of those couples should never have been paired up on the show but they learned to get along with each other for the sake of the competition.

You’re not starting with a disadvantage because of your history together as the romantic couple that got married.

Learning to be partners again and holding each other should be a lot easier because you already love each other. Don’t wait until the world has brought your relationship to a grinding halt.

Get up and dance together! There will be a ton of holding each other involved and a great way to get close to the one you love. As you look at the component parts of ballroom dancing, it’s a safe bet that a man came up with the dance styles to find ways to get closer to the ladies.

The history of ballroom dance and ballroom dance types, according to Wikipedia, were developed in England, and are now actually regulated by the World Dance Council (WDC). In the United States, two additional variations are popular: American Smooth and American Rhythm.

There are also a number of historical dances, and local or national dances, which may be performed in ballrooms or salons. Sequence dancing, in pairs or other formations, is still a popular style of ballroom dance.

Ballroom dancing can be a metaphor for practicing to be romantic partners in life while getting closer at the same time. All of the leading and following while dancing can bring you closer to one another. Learning to help each other align and balance your bodies just helps develop good team work and a great way to stay close.

A good dancer needs to practice, practice, practice and a good marriage needs the same. And remember, you don’t have to be as mean as the judges can be on Dancing with the Stars to accomplish your goals.

Help each other. Love each other. Laugh with each other because the world can beat you up. The two of you must always battle the world together and learn to create romance after the wedding. Learning Ballroom dancing is a good place to start.

Mother of the Bride Duties

Mother of the bride duties can be altered based on traditions of a particular culture.  Traditions change through the years because we change as people. According to tradition, the mother of the bride acts as the hostess. Her duties vary based on whether the wedding is being held in or out of town.

Our Top 12 Mother of the Bride Duties.

1. Mom and the bride to be both keep tabs on the guest list and the amount of people coming to the wedding.
2.
Mom can act as liaison for those performing professional chores like the flowers and cake delivery.
3.
Mother may also help the bride select her wardrobe for the entire day.
4.
The bride chooses whether the mom comes with her to choose her wedding dress as well. It would be really tough for the bride not to include Mom in that process but it’s still her choice. Mom is not invited to all pre-wedding parties.
5.
She will attend the showers but not the Bridesmaid’s Lunch or the Bachelorette party.
6.
Mom can keep track of wedding gifts that pour in and might even give advice on the gift registry etiquette.
7.
She might find reception venues, photographers, florists, caterers and any other professional service needed to make the big day a success.
8.
Mom might run errands as they pop up which might include: Following up on invitations, addressing and mailing announcements, taking care of change of address cards and day of the wedding invitation announcements.
9.
Mother may give the bride jewelry owned by family members from years past. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
10.
She may even accompany the bride down the aisle depending on the cultural traditions that apply. If she doesn’t walk the bride down the aisle, she is the last to be seated by her son or the head usher.
11.
She serves as a hostess and sits at a place of honor at the parents table.
12.
She will mill around to make sure everyone is having a good time and will stay to the end of the reception until all guests have left the building.

This is by no means an exhaustive list for Mother of the Bride. Mother of the bride duties can be trumped by Mom adding to or taking away from her list of things to do. Ask Mom nicely if you want her to fulfill all of her duties :-)

Congratulations on your Wedding!

Water Candles as low as 2.00 USD

Wedding Favor Candles Make Inexpensive Gifts for Guests

Denise loved to shop in the Yankee Candle Store, so she knew that they sold a candle called “Wedding Day”.

“Since I was having a candlelight wedding,” she said, “I thought it would be cool to have wedding favor candles for each guest.  I would have one at every place setting at the reception.”

It turned out that choosing wedding favor candles made a less expensive choice for favors than some other items.  Because Denise had a fairly good wedding budget to work with, she ordered the candles from Yankee Candle. At $1.99 each, her total cost for wedding favors for her 250 guests was only $600.

That included the tax and the cost of some ribbon she used to tie on each candle.“The best part,” Denise said, “was that we didn’t have to do a lot of work to prepare the favors. We just tied a bit of ribbon on each, and we were done.” Of course, for some brides, $600 on favors is too much, but there are ways you can have wedding favor candles at a fraction of the cost.  One bride bought 250 votive candles at two for $1 at a dollar store. She wrapped each in a small piece of colored cellophane and tied the top with a ribbon.  Her total cost for 250 guests, including the cellophane and ribbon, was just over $200.

That same dollar store had small candles in glass jars for $1 each.  Had the bride selected those, she would have had to only tie a piece of ribbon around each.  The cost would have been around $275.
Again, one of the great things about wedding favor candles is that there is not a lot of work involved in putting them together.

Some favor choices are much more labor intensive, and that can be a problem for a very busy bride.
Besides, as Denise noted, everyone loves candles.“All of my guests were so happy with the favors,” she said. “They said they were much better than some other favors they had seen at weddings.”

Wedding favor candles do not have to be expensive, but they will make a memorable favor and are a great way to say “thank you” to your guests for showing their support on your special day.
Tips for giving wedding favor candles:

  • Wrap ribbon in your wedding colors around each candle
  • If possible, make sure the color of the candle does not clash with the reception décor
  • These are especially great favors for evening or candlelight weddings
